Essendo nota la mia passione per i banner di
missioni, ed essendoci giocatori in ferie e disponibili per un giretto, qualche
settimana fa siamo riusciti ad andare a Pordenone a fare il banner da 18
missioni.
Ringrazio le guide per la città, che hanno
consigliato un posto veramente buono dove mangiare e bere una birra. Ringrazio
un po’ meno la pioggia che ci ha rallentati a metà, ma non fermati, perché i
veri Resistenti non si fermano davanti a queste piccolezze! XD XD
Pordenone è molto carina, c’ero andata anni fa
per il matrimonio di un’amica, ma non avevo avuto l’occasione di girarla un
pochettino. Ecco quindi un po’ di foto fate quel giorno (prima della pioggia
era una gran bella giornata, un po’ calda però).

banners, and some weeks ago we organize to go to Pordenone to do the 18 mission
one.
I have to thank the guides that took us around
the city and to a really good place to eat and have a beer. I thank a little
less the rain that slowed us down, but we didn’t stop, because we are
Resistance!! XD XD
Pordenon is a really nice city, I went there
years ago for a wedding without seeing much of the city. Here some pictures I
took that day (before the rain it was a nice day, really hot).

vediamo le foto della Reggia di Caserta.
Il palazzo, voluto da Carlo III di Borbone e
progettato da Luigi Vanvitelli utilizzando come modello la Reggia di Versailles,
è il palazzo reale più grande al mondo (considerando il volume, di 2 milioni di
metri cubi). Ha 4 cortili interni e un giardino lungo 3Km (c’è un pulmino per
arrivare fino in fondo). Un acquedotto è stato fatto costruire apposta per
portare l’acqua che alimenta le fontane e la cascata.
Last post on my vacation in Campania, today it
is time for The Royal Palace of Caserta.
The Palace is the biggest Royal Palace in the
world (considering the volume, of 2 milions of square meters) was built by
order of Carlo III of Bourbon, and the architect was Luigi Vanvitelli. The
model for the palace is the Palace of Versailles. It has 4 courtyards and a
garden of 3Km of length (with a minibus running into it). A aqueduct was built
specifically to bring water for the fountains and the fall.

Arriviamo ora
alla terza parte delle mie ferie in Campania, Nola e la sua festa in onore di
San Paolino.
Per l’occasione
vengono costruiti i Gigli, 8 torri di legno alte fino a 25m che vengono poi
portate a spalla in giro per la città dalle paranze.
La tradizione
racconta che Paolino, per salvare alcuni Nolani presi prigionieri da alcuni
barbari e portati in Africa, si sia offerto di lavorare come giardiniere del re
per pagare il loro riscatto. Al suo ritorno a Nola, i rappresentanti della
cittadinanza andarono a rendergli omaggio portandogli dei gigli in dono. A
rendergli omaggio andarono principalmente le varie corporazioni, quindi anche
oggi i vari gigli di legno sono nominati a seconda di una professione, c’è il
giglio del fabbro, del sarto, del salumiere e così via.

Here we are at the
third part of my vacation in Campania, Nola and the Celebration of Saint
Paolino.
For this occasion the
people of Nola build the Lilies, 8 towers made in wood that are 25m high. The
lilies are then carried around the city on the shoulder of some people
(paranza).
The tradition tells
the story of Paolino who became the gardener of a barbarian king to save some
prisoners captured by the barbarians in Nola. When he came back to the city,
the delegates of the citizens greeted the Saint with lilies as gifts. To greet
him went the guilds of the different jobs, and even now every lily take the
name from one of them, there is the lily of the blacksmith, of the tailor, of
the grocer and so on.

giglio vestito, le decorazioni sono tutte fatte di cartapesta e rappresentano un motivo o un momento storico legato alla città o alla festa di San Paolino. Quello in foto mi pare rappresentasse il periodo rococò, ma non sono sicurissima di ricordarmelo davvero.

questo è invece un giglio poco decorato, che però lo rende leggero... quindi più facile da trasportare... anche perché non ho ancora detto che, dopo la festa religiosa, c'è una gara dei gigli che vengono portati (sempre a spalla) per un percorso attraverso le vie della città, per fare più punti i gigli devono anche fare delle figure (per esempio girarsi in posti molto stretti senza sfiorare i muri), perciò è chiaro che un giglio leggero è più facile da manovrare.
this one is a poor decorated lily, but much more lighter than the others... so it is easier to move around... I didn't say yet that, after the religious celebration, the lilies enter a competition. Every one has to follow a path around the city streets, and they are carried on shoulders of people. Also, to win the competition, the lilies have to do some specific figures (for example turn around in really narrow streets, without touch the walls). It is clear that a less decorated lily is lighter and easy to move one.

Dopo la celebrazione religiosa i gigli si preparano per la gara. Non ho seguito la gara perché per me c'era troppa folla, mi è bastato stare in mezzo a tutta quella gente al mattino.
Purtroppo non so nemmeno chi ha vinto, ma so che la gara è durata tutta la notte, fino a mattino inoltrato del giorno dopo.
After the religious ceremony there is the competition. I didn't stay there for that, it was too crowded for me and I had enough contact with people in the morning.
I don't know who won, but I know the competition went on all night until the next morning.
Ho fatto anche qualche video del momento in cui i Gigli entravano in Piazza, rende molto più l'idea della musica e confusione che ci sono e che sono parte integrante della festa.
La musica è fondamentale, ci sono canzoni diverse a seconda del movimento che deve fare il giglio, ogni giglio poi ha le sue specifiche canzoni.
Fatemi sapere se i video funzionano, ho il dubbio di non averli caricati nel modo giusto.
I recorded some videos of the moment which the Lilies entered the Main Square, you can really appreciate the music and the chaos that are around the Lilies and are part of the celebration.
The music is fundamental, there are songs specific for every movement the lily has to make, and every lily has is own specific songs.
