Un altro bel thriller, d'estate mi piace leggere libri così, non chiedetemi perché.
Rachel è una pendolare, prende sempre lo stesso treno tutte le mattine, e, quasi tutte le mattine il treno si ferma per qualche minuto davanti ad una casa abitata da una coppia. E' facile per Rachel immaginare una vita ideale per questa coppia, finché una mattina le capita di vedere qualcosa che le fa crollare tutti le fantasie. Alla fin fine la vita ideale immaginata, per sostituirla a quella per niente ideale che vive lei, forse non esiste davvero.
Quando poi la donna risulta scomparsa, Rachel decide che deve dire alla polizia quello che ha visto, ma verrà creduta?
Ho fatto per tanti anni la pendolare e in effetti mi è capitato spesso di immaginarmi la vita delle persone che abitano nelle case che vedevo tutti i giorni guardando dal finestrino, mi è abbastanza facile riconoscermi in questo. Ovviamente non ho mai visto niente di particolare, la campagna veneta è abbastanza monotona.
Libro molto consigliato se amate il thriller e/o i gialli. Protagonista insolita e, ancora una volta, capitoli narrati con diversi punti di vista e salti temporali. L'ho preso in biblioteca un po' a caso, letto tutto d'un fiato, felice della scelta casuale.
Another thriller, in summer I like to read this kind of books, do not ask me why.
Rachel takes the train every morning, and, almost every morning, the train stops in front of the same house. It is easy for Rachel to imagine a perfect life for the people living in the house, until one morning she sees something that destroy her fantasies. At the end, the perfect life she imagines to replace her own doesn't really exist.
When the woman in the house got missing, Rachel decides the police needs to know what she saw, but do they believe her?
I was commutin by train for many years and sometimes me too I made up stories about the people and the places I was passing by every day. It is easy to identify in that. Of course I never saw anything interesting, the Venetian country is pretty boring.
I really suggest this book if you like thrillers and/or crime books. The main characters is unusual and, also in this book, the chapters have different point of views and time settings. I had this one from the library at random, I read it really fast and I am happy of the random choice.
